This funding opportunity supports interdisciplinary research on population approaches to reduce alcohol-related cancer risk. Funded activities include increasing awareness of alcohol-cancer links, changing social norms around alcohol use, evaluating alcohol policies, and developing/testing population-level interventions. Projects addressing moderate to heavy drinking and alcohol use disorder from a cancer prevention perspective are especially encouraged.
Eligible applicants include Native American tribal governments, public housing authorities, special district and county governments, small businesses, various nonprofit organizations, institutions of higher education, state and city governments, and for-profit organizations other than small business
