Supports faculty research at predominantly undergraduate institutions (PUIs) through Research in Undergraduate Institutions (RUI) and Research Opportunity Awards (ROA). Funding covers individual and collaborative projects, shared instrumentation, and visiting scientist activities at research-intensive organizations. Eligible PUIs award Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degrees and have awarded 20 or fewer Ph.D./D.Sci. degrees in the past two years. Proposals are evaluated by NSF disciplinary programs.
