This opportunity supports faculty research at predominantly undergraduate institutions (PUIs) through individual or collaborative projects, shared instrumentation, and Research Opportunity Awards (ROA) that enable faculty to collaborate as visiting scientists at research-intensive organizations. Proposals are evaluated within NSF disciplinary programs and aim to build research capacity and integrate research with undergraduate education.
Eligible applicants are faculty members at accredited predominantly undergraduate institutions (PUIs) in the U.S. that award Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degrees and have awarded 20 or fewer Ph.D./D.Sci. degrees in NSF-supported fields over the past two academic years.
