Supports small-scale basic and clinical research projects at US health professional and graduate schools with limited NIH funding. Projects must expose undergraduate or graduate students to research and strengthen the applicant institution's research environment. Clinical trials are not allowed. Eligible institutions award NIH-relevant degrees and have received less than $6 million NIH support annually in 4 of the last 7 years.
