This opportunity funds proof-of-concept development of new technologies and approaches for recording and modulating neural cells and circuits in the central nervous system. Projects may involve instrumentation hardware, software, or molecular constructs using modalities like optical, electrical, magnetic, or acoustic methods. Validation in behaving animals is required, focusing on demonstrating technology capabilities to overcome major barriers in neurobiological experiments and enable new discoveries.
