This program funds fundamental engineering research on biosensing technologies that monitor and quantify biological analytes. It encourages proposals that advance biosensing technology and address critical sensor needs in biomedical research, public health, food safety, agriculture, forensics, environmental protection, and homeland security. Areas of interest include novel signal transduction, adaptive biosensing systems, synthetic biology approaches, and AI integration to improve sensor performance. Proposals must advance both engineering and life sciences and demonstrate novelty or transform
Eligibility is unrestricted and open to any type of entity, including academic, nonprofit, government, and for-profit organizations. Applicants should consult the program director for clarifications.
