This program funds procurement, conversion, upgrade, enhancement, and operation of oceanographic platforms and shared-use facilities in ocean, coastal, near-shore waters, and Great Lakes. It supports technical services, instrumentation, and shipboard scientific support equipment to enhance scientific productivity and safety of federally funded oceanographic research projects. Eligible proposals must support shared-use facilities and instrumentation that benefit multiple research projects.
Eligible applicants include U.S.-based non-profit, non-academic organizations associated with education or research, and accredited U.S. institutions of higher education acting on behalf of faculty. International branch campuses require justification.
