This funding supports eligible U.S. institutions in acquiring the latest scientific equipment to modernize and improve the efficiency of shared-use biomedical research facilities, including laboratory cores and animal research spaces. It excludes funding for scientific research instruments or building infrastructure components. The goal is to strengthen research-auxiliary activities and operational efficiency in biomedical research environments.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S. entities such as county and state governments, federally recognized tribal governments, public and private higher education institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, and other specified organizations. Eligibility is limited to U.S.-based entities.
