This opportunity funds joint U.S. and low- and middle-income country institution programs to strengthen infectious disease research capacity. Supported research includes endemic, emerging, and neglected diseases, co-infections with HIV, and infections linked to non-communicable diseases. Programs must include didactic training, mentored research, and career development, allowing trainees to lead or participate in clinical trials as part of their development.
