This initiative supports early stage translational research activities including prototype testing and design modification, assay development for diagnostic targets, and research tool development for HLBS diseases. It aims to prepare products for subsequent in vivo testing and further development through NIH and other programs. Clinical trials are not allowed under this R33 award.
