The Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) provides three to five years of support and protected time for supervised career development in biomedical, behavioral, or clinical sciences. It excludes leading independent clinical trials but allows mentored clinical trial experience. The award targets researchers aiming for independence, including those entering new fields or returning from career breaks.
