This funding opportunity solicits applications to form Animal and Veterinary Innovation Centers that partner with FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine. Funded research includes developing interventions to prevent or control Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza and other zoonotic diseases, advancing intentional genomic alterations in animals for agricultural resilience and public health, and creating veterinary products addressing significant health burdens in major and minor species.
Eligible applicants include public and private higher education institutions, including Hispanic-serving Institutions, HBCUs, TCCUs, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions, and AANAPISIs. Other entities may be eligible as detailed in additional information.
