The SHINE program funds investigator-initiated R01 projects that promote innovative, high-quality research in nonmalignant hematology. It targets basic and early translational research relevant to diabetes, aging, and heart, lung, and blood diseases. Clinical trials are not allowed. Emerging research topics are updated annually to reflect leading-edge science in the field.
