Supports investigator-initiated R01 grants for innovative, high-quality research in nonmalignant hematology. Focus areas include basic and early translational research addressing emerging topics that evolve annually. Clinical trials are not allowed. Foreign components of U.S. organizations are permitted, but foreign organizations cannot apply.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of organizations such as city, county, and state governments; nonprofits; for-profit organizations; small businesses; institutions of higher education; tribal governments and organizations; and various federally recognized and minority-serving institutions.
