This initiative funds translational research focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying schizophrenia and related disorders in individuals over 35 years old. It supports studies on the emergence and trajectory of these disorders during mid to late life and aims to identify targets for future prevention and treatment efforts. Clinical trials are optional under this funding opportunity.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of organizations such as nonprofits, for-profits, educational institutions, tribal governments, government entities, small businesses, and various minority-serving institutions. Both U.S. and certain non-U.S. entities may apply.
