This funding opportunity supports investigator-initiated early phase clinical trials of natural products such as botanicals, dietary supplements, and probiotics with strong scientific justification. Studies should focus on replicating the impact of the natural product on target engagement in humans and its association with functional or clinical outcomes. Trials must be hypothesis-driven, milestone-based, and designed to inform further development decisions. Up to 3 years of funding is provided. Efficacy or effectiveness trials are not supported.
