This funding opportunity supports the development and translation of novel recording and modulation technologies targeting the human central nervous system. Projects should advance technologies from proof of concept through readiness for first in human studies, utilizing any signal modality such as electrical, optical, magnetic, or acoustic. Diverse, multidisciplinary teams are encouraged to apply to facilitate innovative approaches for treating, diagnosing, and understanding CNS diseases and disorders. Clinical trials are not permitted under this award.
Eligible applicants include for-profit organizations (excluding small businesses), private and public institutions of higher education, various government entities, nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, small businesses, tribal governments and organizations, and other specified entities.
