This funding opportunity supports veterinary diagnostic laboratories in the Vet-LIRN network for projects and equipment grants. Funded activities include developing and validating new methods related to animal food safety and antimicrobial resistance, conducting short-term surveillance, supporting testing equipment including emerging technologies, antimicrobial stewardship projects, AMR monitoring including sequencing, and One Health efforts such as emerging diseases like COVID-19.
Eligible applicants include state, county, city, and tribal governments, nonprofits (both 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3)), small businesses, public housing authorities, and institutions of higher education, both public and private.
