The NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) Program aims to empower academically talented, low-income students to succeed in STEM careers. By providing scholarships and funding for evidence-based curricular and co-curricular activities, the program seeks to increase the number of graduates in critical STEM fields. Institutions of higher education are encouraged to propose initiatives that address the unique needs of these students, ultimately contributing to the American innovation economy.
Eligible scholars must be domestic low-income students with academic potential enrolled in S-STEM eligible degree programs. Proposers must analyze the needs of the target student population.
