This funding opportunity supports investigator-initiated Program Project (P01) applications focusing on infectious microbes including HIV, host-microbe interactions, immune system development and dysfunction, and translational research to develop vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. Applications must include at least two synergistic research projects sharing a common theme and an administrative core, with optional scientific cores as needed. Clinical trials are not allowed.
Eligible applicants include various government entities, nonprofits, small businesses, and educational institutions. Foreign organizations are not eligible, but foreign components of U.S. organizations are allowed.
