This funding supports domestic organizations to develop and implement effective biomedical undergraduate research training and mentoring programs. It aims to prepare students to complete baccalaureate degrees in biomedical fields and transition into advanced research-focused degrees. Applications are accepted for single-site programs or community college partnerships, incorporating didactic, research, and career development activities to build a strong biomedical research workforce.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, private and public institutions of higher education, and Native American tribal governments and organizations. Applicants must be domestic and have NIH RPG funding averaging less than $50 million annually over the past three years.
