This funding opportunity supports basic research investigating the pathological mechanisms of skin injuries caused by toxic Chemicals of Concern identified as public health threats. The goal is to spur discovery and early development of broad-spectrum medical countermeasures to enhance preparedness and response to chemical disasters and emergencies. Clinical trials are not allowed under this grant.
Eligible applicants include Native American tribal governments and organizations, nonprofits, private and public institutions of higher education, small businesses, various government entities, and for-profit organizations other than small businesses within the United States.
