The MIRA award provides stable, flexible funding for individual investigators conducting research within the NIGMS mission. It supports ambitious scientific projects, encourages new research directions, reduces time spent on grant applications and administration, and promotes mentoring. Renewal applications from current MIRA grantees are accepted. Early-Stage Investigators should apply through a separate ESI MIRA NOFO.
