This funding opportunity supports domestic institutions to develop or enhance predoctoral and postdoctoral research training programs in biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research. Programs must include engaging didactic, research, and career development activities to prepare trainees for impactful health-related research careers. Short-term predoctoral training programs are excluded. Trainees may gain research experience in clinical trials led by mentors but cannot lead independent clinical trials themselves.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S.-based institutions such as public and private higher education institutions, nonprofits, tribal governments, small businesses, and various government entities. Non-domestic entities and non-domestic components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
