This funding opportunity supports investigator-initiated Resource-Related Research Projects (R24) that provide significant benefits to high priority projects or develop new resources for the NIAID scientific community. Funded research includes microbial biology, pathogenesis, immune function, autoimmunity, allergy, asthma, transplant rejection, and translational research for vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics. Clinical trials are not allowed under this mechanism.
Eligible applicants include public and private institutions of higher education, nonprofits, small businesses, tribal organizations and governments, various government entities, and others as specified. Applicants must align with the specified eligible organization types.
