This fellowship supports predoctoral dual-degree students at institutions without NIH-funded dual-degree training programs. It funds integrated research and clinical training plans and dissertation projects in scientific health-related fields relevant to NIH missions. Research involving leading independent clinical trials is excluded, but participation in trials led by others is permitted. The goal is to develop productive, independent physician/clinician-scientists.
Eligible applicants include predoctoral dual-degree students at nonprofit, for-profit, and public institutions of higher education without NIH-funded dual-degree programs. Institutions must be in the United States. Specific eligibility details are provided in the funding notice.
