The SuRE Award supports investigator-initiated biomedical research in basic, social, clinical, behavioral, or translational science at eligible higher education institutions. It targets full-time faculty not currently funded by NIH RPGs to build research capacity, provide quality research experiences for students, and enhance institutional scientific culture. Clinical trials (R16) are not allowed under this award.
Eligible applicants are public, state-controlled, and private higher education institutions in the United States. Faculty must be full-time and not currently funded by NIH Research Project Grants except SuRE or SuRE-First awards.
