This program funds small, self-contained research projects including pilot studies, secondary data analysis, and methodology or technology development for scientists supported by NIAMS career development awards. It provides up to $50,000 per year for two years to enhance research capabilities and facilitate transition to independent investigator status. Clinical trials are excluded. Applications are limited competition and peer-reviewed.
Eligible applicants include public and private higher education institutions, Native American tribal governments and organizations, nonprofits, small businesses, government entities, and other specified organizations within the United States.
