This program funds small research projects including pilot and feasibility studies, secondary data analysis, and methodology development for scientists in mid-career development stages. It targets recipients of specific NIH career development awards focused on NIAMS mission areas, providing up to $50,000 direct costs annually for two years. Clinical trials are excluded. Applications undergo NIH peer review and are by invitation only.
Eligible applicants include Native American tribal governments, nonprofits, private and public institutions of higher education, small businesses, government entities, and others as specified. Foreign organizations are not eligible to apply, but foreign components of U.S. organizations are allowed.
