This limited competition invites NHLBI K01, K08, K23, and K25 awardees to apply for small grant support (R03) to expand or branch out from their current research. Funded projects include pilot or feasibility studies, proof of concept, secondary data analysis, or development of new methodologies. Applicants must maintain 40% protected research effort and projects should be completed within two years to generate preliminary data for future R01 applications.
