This grant supports systematic studies of critical environmental extrinsic factors in animal model species to enhance rigor and reproducibility of animal research. It funds acquisition or updating of modern equipment capable of simultaneously measuring multiple environmental, biological, or biobehavioral parameters. Research must be broadly relevant to multiple NIH Institutes or Centers and impact multiple organ systems, aligning with NIH-wide missions.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of organizations such as tribal governments, small businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, government entities, and others. Non-domestic entities are not eligible to apply, but foreign components of U.S. organizations are allowed.
