This program funds research to increase fundamental understanding and development of catalysts and catalytic reactions beneficial to society. Emphasis is on heterogeneous catalysis including gas-solid and liquid-solid systems, catalyst performance under realistic conditions, novel catalyst materials, and applications such as renewable energy, carbon cycle closure, environmental catalysis, and biomass conversion. Proposals should address catalyst stability, reproducibility, and quantitative performance metrics.
Eligibility is unrestricted and open to any type of entity. Applicants should consult the program director for any clarifications or specific eligibility questions.
