This program supports research advancing fundamental and quantitative understanding of nanomaterial interactions with biological and environmental media. Topics include characterization, predictive modeling, transport, simulation, and quantum effects in nanostructures. Interdisciplinary and exploratory projects are encouraged to design nanostructured materials with tailored properties for sustainable manufacturing and utilization. CAREER and special proposal types like RAPID and EAGER are also supported with prior consultation.
