This program funds projects that develop computational tools and data resources to support basic research in social and behavioral sciences. It supports infrastructure efforts such as data collection, assembly, and software platforms that enable research by social scientists. The program also funds three major longitudinal surveys tracking American society over time and encourages innovative infrastructure projects that facilitate research in these fields.
