The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers with research or clinical doctorates to transition to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. It provides NIH research funding to facilitate launching competitive independent research careers focused on basic experimental studies involving humans.
