The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers holding research or clinical doctorates to transition from mentored research positions to independent, tenure-track or equivalent faculty roles. The award provides NIH research funding during this transition to help launch competitive independent research careers. Independent clinical trials are not allowed under this program.
Eligible applicants include postdoctoral researchers with research or clinical doctorates transitioning to independence.
