This cooperative agreement supports state human and animal food testing laboratories by funding projects that enhance their capacity and capabilities. It focuses on prioritized sample testing, food defense preparedness, and method development in microbiology, chemistry, and radiochemistry to strengthen the integrated food safety system.
Eligible applicants include private and public institutions of higher education, city, county, state, and special district governments, as well as Native American tribal organizations and federally recognized tribal governments within the United States.
