This funding opportunity supports translational research and small clinical studies aimed at advancing therapeutic and diagnostic devices for nervous and neuromuscular system disorders. Funded activities include prototype implementation, safety and efficacy testing, design validation, regulatory approvals such as IDE or IRB, and milestone-driven cooperative agreements with NIH involvement.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of institutions such as public and private higher education, nonprofits, small businesses, tribal organizations, government entities, and certain federal agencies and special institutions. Both U.S. and some non-U.S. entities may apply.
