The NHLBI Career Transition Award (K22) supports postdoctoral fellows in the NHLBI Division of Intramural Research to transition their research programs to extramural institutions. It funds a mentored intramural phase of up to two years and an extramural phase of three years, contingent on a progress review. The award requires a clinical trial and supports development of independent research careers.
Eligible applicants include postdoctoral fellows in the NHLBI intramural program transitioning to extramural institutions. Eligible organizations include public/state institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, for-profits, tribal governments, and others as specified.
