This award facilitates the career transition of dentists from NIH Intramural postdoctoral research to extramural academic tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. It provides two years of mentored intramural research training and three years of independent extramural research funding. Clinical trials are not allowed. Eligible applicants include a wide range of institutions and organizations, excluding non-domestic entities.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit and for-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, tribal governments, small businesses, and various federally recognized institutions. Non-domestic entities are not eligible to apply, but foreign components of U.S. organizations are allowed.
