This award facilitates the career transition of dentists from NIH Intramural postdoctoral research roles to extramural academic tenure-track or equivalent faculty positions. It provides two years of mentored research training within NIH Intramural Research Program and three years of independent research funding at eligible extramural institutions. Clinical trials are not allowed under this award.
Eligible applicants include dentists in NIH Intramural postdoctoral positions aiming for extramural faculty roles. Eligible institutions include higher education, nonprofits, small businesses, tribal governments, and various government entities in the US.
