The TURTLE program supports federally recognized AI/AN Tribes, tribal colleges, and organizations to develop and implement effective training and mentoring for doctoral students pursuing biomedical research degrees. The focus is on building a skilled workforce to conduct culturally appropriate, ethical research on AI/AN health and disparities, facilitating Ph.D. completion and career transition into biomedical research.
Eligible applicants include federally recognized AI/AN Tribes, tribal colleges or universities, Tribal health programs, tribal organizations, and public or private institutions of higher education. Foreign entities and foreign components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
