This grant funds NIH-supported investigator groups to acquire or upgrade a single high-end, specialized, commercially available scientific instrument or integrated system. Eligible instruments include nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometers, mass spectrometers, microscopes, sequencers, and biomedical imagers. Awards range from $750,001 to $2,000,000. Foreign entities and components are not eligible.
Eligible applicants include public and private institutions of higher education, nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) status, and certain minority-serving institutions. Foreign organizations and foreign components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
