This funding opportunity supports the clinical validation of molecular, cellular, and imaging assays for cancer detection, diagnosis, prognosis, monitoring, and prediction of treatment response or resistance. It funds validation studies using specimens from retrospective or prospective clinical trials or observational studies, including efforts to harmonize assay performance across laboratories. Early-stage assay development and clinical trials are excluded. Projects require multidisciplinary collaboration and can last up to 3 years.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S.-based institutions such as public and private higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations (excluding small businesses), government entities, tribal organizations, and others.
