This award supports highly qualified postdoctoral fellows and doctoral-level researchers in the NHLBI Division of Intramural Research to transition their research programs to extramural institutions as junior investigators. The funding excludes independent clinical trials and aims to facilitate career development and research independence outside the intramural setting.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of organizations such as public institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations (excluding small businesses), tribal governments, and various educational institutions. Foreign organizations and foreign components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
