This opportunity funds pilot research focused on developing and testing novel psychosocial therapeutic and preventive interventions for mental disorders. It supports experimental therapeutics approaches to translate basic and behavioral science into clinical applications. Up to three years of funding is provided to replicate target engagement and assess its impact on clinical outcomes, requiring clinical trials under the R33 mechanism.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of organizations such as small businesses, institutions of higher education, various government entities, nonprofits, tribal organizations, and other specified institutions including federal agencies and foreign organizations.
