This award provides support for outstanding neurologist- and neurosurgeon-scientists at NINDS to develop independent research skills through a two-phase program. The first phase involves an intramural NIH appointment, followed by extramural support to facilitate transition to independent academic faculty positions. Funded activities include independently funded scientific research and clinical activities, with a clinical trial required.
