This K22 award provides support for outstanding neurologist- and neurosurgeon-scientists within NINDS to develop independent research skills through a two-phase program. The initial phase involves an intramural NIH appointment, followed by extramural support to facilitate transition to independent academic faculty positions. Funded activities include independently funded scientific research and clinical activities. A clinical trial is required.
Eligible applicants include U.S. government entities, educational institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, and specific tribal organizations. Foreign entities and foreign components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
