This funding supports the development of novel small-molecule and biologic drug candidates aimed at preventing, slowing, or treating Alzheimer's disease. Funded activities cover medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, ADMET, animal model efficacy, biomarker development, formulation, GMP synthesis, IND enabling studies, and initial Phase I clinical trials. The program excludes basic research, repurposed drugs, and stand-alone clinical trials, focusing on translational therapy development.
