This award provides support for neurologist- and neurosurgeon-scientists to develop independent research skills through a two-phase program: an initial NIH intramural appointment followed by extramural support. It facilitates transition to independent academic faculty positions involving scientific research and clinical activities. Clinical trials are not allowed under this award.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S. organizations such as tribal governments, educational institutions, nonprofits, government entities, and small businesses. Foreign organizations and foreign components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
