This funding opportunity supports innovative pilot research projects investigating biological, behavioral, and social mechanisms contributing to HIV pathogenesis, comorbidities, coinfections, and complications within the mission of NIDDK. Projects should align with NIH HIV/AIDS research priorities and focus on mechanisms affecting organs, tissues, and viral reservoirs relevant to NIDDK. Clinical trials are not allowed under this opportunity.
Eligible applicants include state and local governments, federally recognized and other Native American tribal organizations, nonprofits with and without 501(c)(3) status, private and public institutions of higher education, small businesses, and for-profit organizations other than small businesses.
