This program provides Small Grant (R03) funding to NIDDK-supported K01, K08, K23, and K25 recipients to conduct pilot and feasibility studies, secondary data analyses, small self-contained projects, or research methodology and technology development. It supports projects that can be completed quickly with limited resources and aims to enhance recipients' transition to independent investigator status by generating preliminary data for future larger grants.
Eligible applicants include various U.S. government entities, nonprofits, small businesses, tribal organizations, and institutions of higher education. Applicants must be NIDDK-supported K01, K08, K23, or K25 award recipients.
