Supports domestic institutions to develop or enhance short-term, intensive research training programs for predoctoral and health professional students in biomedical, behavioral, clinical, physical, or quantitative sciences. The program typically provides summer research experiences to prepare trainees for careers in biomedical research by exposing them to fundamental research principles.
Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S. institutions such as public and private higher education institutions, nonprofits, small businesses, government entities, and tribal organizations. Eligibility is limited to domestic institutions.
