This initiative funds R15-eligible Principal Investigators to conduct rigorous basic and mechanistic pain research projects. It encourages integrated interdisciplinary partnerships between eligible PIs and other U.S. investigators and aims to enhance the pain research environment by actively involving health professional trainees and students in the research.
