This funding opportunity supports formative research, intervention development, and pilot-testing of novel or adapted interventions targeting HIV prevention, treatment, and services for people who use substances. Funded interventions may include behavioral, social, structural, or combination biomedical-behavioral approaches aimed at preventing HIV acquisition and transmission or improving clinical outcomes. A clinical trial is required under this R34 mechanism.
